grape2glass

We aim to produce wine that is a true expression of the Klein Karoo. Our vineyard is planted with 3 grape varieties - Viognier, Touriga Nacioñal and Tinta Roriz. These cultivars are ideally suited to our environment and are farmed sustainably and in harmony with their surroundings.

We believe that farming regeneratively and organically is not only responsible stewardship, but additionally provides a degree of purity and sense of place in our finished wines. Our farming practices maintain and enhance the quality of the soil, minimize our use of irrigation water, and preserve the surrounding Klein Karoo landscape.

Cover crops are planted to enhance biodiversity, minimize soil erosion, control weeds, fertilize the soil while improving the structure and microbial activity of the soil. Only minimal inputs are used and never any synthetic pesticides or herbicide. Integrated Pest Management techniques are used to maintain balance in the vineyard. We work to control any disease or pest before it becomes a problem through intense monitoring and increased biodiversity in all of our farming practices.

Lenies Hof wines are crafted by Mike Neebe of Axe Hill, our friend, neighbour and a well-known boutique wine and port maker. Our collaboration with Mike has resulted in the creation of high quality, small yield vintages that we enjoy drinking and sharing with friends. Our wines can be purchased directly from the Axe Hill cellar or at the local bottle store.
